Games are part of day to day life, entertaining users, but at the same time modelling behavior. By applying game mechanics and dynamics to tasks and learning processes we can increase students' engagement in learning. In the theory of gamified learning, gamification is defined as the use of game attributes, outside the context of a game with the purpose of affecting learning related behaviors and attitudes.

In this course learners will be introduced to the terminology and research in the field. They will practice planning lessons using gamification strategies. Finally, they will be introduced to different games and learn to use them for teaching, review and assessment of learning.
